Roxanne enjoys raw mushrooms when she's feeling hungry

Roxanne Pallet has revealed that to drop a dress size ahead of filiming a new British flick she would eat mushrooms.

The Waterloo Road star revealed earlier this week, at the launch party of the Bali Health lounge in Manchester, the secret behind her new slimline figure is eating raw mushrooms.

Pallett, who’s dropped a dress size in just under two weeks from eating raw mushrooms, told us that she’s incorporating the vegetable in her daily diet as a way of keeping her figure ‘ship-shape’.

Unknown to many, mushrooms are an excellent source of B vitamins and are especially good for anyone trying to lose weight as they are naturally low in fat and actually make you feel fuller longer.

Roxanne avoided the heavy canapés served at the party, instead opting to munch on her own stash of mushrooms that she took along with her to the bash – and went as far as sharing an array of vegetables among other guests.

When quizzed about the eating the vegetable, she explained: “This new role that I’ll soon be filming for is important to me and I need to look my best – mushrooms prevent me from gorging on fatty foods.

Roxanne is moving to London for the summer as of next week to film a new British movie.

“I’ve upped the good foods in my diet.  Mushrooms are one of them and they’re healthy - which is an added bonus.

“I love mushrooms – they give me so much energy and help me to keep going which is important with my busy schedule. I especially love James Martin’s mushroom soup – it’s divine, low in calories and very easy to make.”

Following her dazzling appearance at the Magic Mike premiere in London on Tuesday, where she was pictured wearing a very racy asymmetrical Nadine Merabi dress, Ex-Emmerdale star, Roxanne said that it was mushrooms that enabled her to get into the red dress.

Yet it was her best pal, Nadine [pictured above], who encouraged Roxy to eat more mushrooms as she too is a huge fan.

Mushrooms offer a number of health benefits, as they’re high in protein and low in calories – making them an excellent option for any diet.

Other celebs partial to more than one or two mushrooms a day include, Katy Perry.  Earlier this year, she explained that she ‘loved mushrooms’.

“I could eat a ton of them. I really love truffles but I hardly ever get them. Mushrooms in general though are so healthy and good for you. I can’t get enough.”
