A tiny spray that tackles allergic rhinitis is set to help combat this Autumn’s predicted allergy crisis.

Allergy experts have warned that this Autumn could be the worst on record for allergic rhinitis and are encouraging sufferers to seek treatment before symptoms strike.

The damp weather during June and July caused ragweed pollen levels to rise and standing water caused by summer flooding has increased the amount of mould, another common allergen, into the air.

Rhinolast Allergy is a new tiny 5ml nasal spray available over the counter which starts working faster than many other anti-allergic therapies, relieving symptoms just 10-15 minutes after application. In contrast, other treatments often start to act only after two or three hours.

Unlike other treatments, Rhinolast Allergy is effective even after the symptoms have appeared, avoiding the need to plan ahead of an expected allergen exposure.

Rhinolast Allergy targets the symptoms of red, swollen and itchy eyes, runny nose and sneezing within minutes and can even be used by children from the age of five for up to four weeks without a doctor’s intervention.

It is a non-steroid treatment and contains the active ingredient azelastine which is more than just a simple anti-histamine. It is the only anti-histamine with a triple mode of action, thus treating the disease and not just the symptoms.

Rhinolast Allergy costs £3.99 and is available from independent pharmacies
