The health risks of sunbeds are well publicised

Women who use sunbeds aren't concerned about the health risk, according to new research.

A quarter admitted that they will do whatever it takes to look their best even if it puts their health at risk.

Only 33% of the respondents admitted that they were worried about the potential health risks associated with sunbeds.

The good news is though only 37% of respondents of the study admitted to ever using sunbeds, from the research conducted by MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, which polled 2,126.

Mark Pearson, Chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, had the following to say about the findings:

“It is slightly concerning to see how many British women use sunbeds whilst being fully aware of the risks. In addition to sunbeds being a health risk, you should also think of the long term savings you could make if you cut back on the bad habit, as tanning sessions can be very expensive. Fake tan is not only a safer bet, but also a cheaper option too.

“At the end of the day, you only have one body and you have to look after yourself. Don’t put yourself at risk by turning to sunbeds to get your tan!”

21% of those who use false tan admitted they preferred the fake stuff to the often harmful natural tan.
