Nicole Scherzinger leaves us envious of her locks

X Factor may be trailing Strictly Come Dancing in the ratings but when it comes to hair styles they win hands down – according to a new survey.

The poll by VoucherCodesNetwork.co.uk  matched up six Strictly versus X Factor showdowns and asked the public to vote for who they thought had the best hair.

In the contest between Tess Daly and Nicole Scherzinger, the public voted heavily in favour of the X Factor judge and former Pussycat Doll singer. Her big locks won 62% of the vote compared to Tess’ 38%.

And it's no surprise really, Nicole's big big hair often dominates the screens and there is never a hair out of place.

One woman who took part in the survey said: “When it comes to presenters and judges, I’d say that X Factor definitely has the better hair.

“Although, I think if you had compared the hair on the contestants, Strictly would win hands down, the hair and make-up department on that show are absolutely amazing.”

Strictly’s Darcey Bussell beat outspoken X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne with 59% compared to Mrs O’s 41%.

Louis Walsh beat Len Goodman 71% to 29%, similarly Gary Barlow thrashed Strictly’s Mr Nasty, Craig Revel Horwood, by 68% to 32%.

In a shock result, X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary lost out to Strictly’s Bruno Tonioli by the smallest of margins, 52% compared to O’Leary’s 48%.

The best Strictly Come Dancing fans could hope for now was a draw, however, in the final ‘hair-off’, the X Factor’s Caroline Flack was the victor over Strictly’s Claudia Winkleman with 56% to the latter’s 44%.

Another woman added: “I prefer Len Goodman’s personality over Louis Walsh however, when it comes to hair, Louis has to win it purely for that fact that he has more of it.

“Most of these choices were easy, there’s no contest between Darcey and Sharon, but I’d have to say that choice between Claudia and Caroline was the hardest.

“They’ve both got their own unique styles and both are very fashionable. In the end I had to go for Caroline, but it was a close call.”

A spokesperson from VoucherCodesNetwork.co.uk commented: “Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor are old ratings rivals so we thought it would be interesting to see who the public thought had the best hair.”

“We thought it may be a close fight between Tess and Nicole and were surprised to see by how much of a huge margin the latter won it by. Similarly we were really shocked to see Bruno beating Dermot.”

“The one notable exception from the poll was of course Bruce Forsyth, but we deliberately left him out as we thought with his hair being so unique, there would be no contest.”
