The Marios Schwab SS14 hairstyle

The Marios Schwab SS14 hairstyle

For Marios Schwab, the technique of airbrushing evokes a certain sexuality that is omnipresent in the female body. Amorphous forms appear and disappear, highlighting the body’s contours in a sculptural manner.

A graphic framework complements a soft silhouette and brings together a spring summer collection that juxtaposes the body’s organic shapes against those put on to it.

Sam McKnight wanted to reflect the linear contours of the collection in the hair, creating a soft, feminine look with the hair swept back off the face, rather than a harsh parting.

“The ghd eclipse styler was the key to creating the mirror-shine on this sleek, smooth, poker-straight look, reflecting the linear contours seen in the Marios Schwab collection.” explains Sam.

Taking inspiration from iconic Greta Garbo and Stella Tennant images hanging in the Marios Schwab studio, Sam created a strong, aristocratic elegance, with a nod towards old Hollywood glamour. The fold in the back of the hair was created to give the look a youthful and modern touch.

GET THE LOOK:

Work mousse all the way through the hair and blow-dry using the ghd air hairdryer. Top tip: Blow-drying flat will ensure the hair holds with ease.

Next, sweep the front section of the hair back off the face.

Run the ghd eclipse styler through the hair to ensure a sleek and mirror-shine finish.

Gather all hair at the nape of the neck and part three ways, being careful not to disturb the front section of the hair. Next, fold the right and left sections over the middle section as if you’re going to start creating a braid.

Secure the style with a large hair clip or slide.

To complete the look, run the ghd eclipse styler through the ponytail for added shine and a poker-straight finish.

Top tip: This look works best on freshly washed hair.
