The Bafta red carpet was awash with Hollywood’s finest, positively glowing from head-to-toe in striking strapless gowns and on-trend thigh-high split dresses, revealing perfectly prepped pins.

Venus’ A-list Beauty Therapist, Nathalie Eleni shares her insider tips with us on recreating the hottest red carpet beauty trends.

Nathalie Eleni, Venus Beauty Therapist says …

Despite the winter chill, there was still plenty of skin on show with strapless dresses and leg-revealing gowns, adding a touch of elegance and glamour to the red carpet. When opting for this look, I make sure my clients avoid any mishaps on the night by achieving flawless and hair-free skin. For this I would recommend the Venus & Olay razor which has 5-blades positioned closely together to give you touchable, smooth skin plus the Olay Moisture-Boost shave gel bars which help replenish your skin’s moisture. TOP TIP: Pop the Venus & Olay razor in your kit bag for any last minute touch ups, as the shave gel bars mean there is no need for a separate shave gel!

Pops of vibrant, jewel colours were seen everywhere last night, with Naomi Harris and Lily Allen opting for hot-pink and orange, standing out on the red carpet. When recreating the look at home, avoid looking washed out by giving your skin a soft, natural glow ahead of the big event. Firstly, it's important to work on removing any dry skin by exfoliating the body. Next, the BAFTA-tan acted more as a skin enhancer than a deep tan, so warm up your skin tone by mixing one part fake tan to two parts oil-free moisturiser to create a gentle glow. Apply in the morning for hydrated and 'enhanced' skin by night. On the evening itself, use a skin illuminator on all of your exposed areas, paying particular attention to collar bones and shoulders. Finish by sweeping a shimmering powder over skin for a glamourous finish.

The red carpet was also quite literally ‘star-studded’ as our favourite leading ladies joined the glitterati with embellishments and textures galore. Team with barely-there makeup to get the look just right and not overdone! Using a cream blush in a soft peach tone is perfect for the subtle make-up look as seen on starlet Amy Adams; apply to the apples of your cheeks for a lovely faint, peaches and cream complexion, then dust on a very light layer of illuminating powder for a radiant shimmer. Lips were also elegantly muted; ensure you opt for a colour that matches your skin tone to balance your look. TOP TIP: Brows play an important part when opting for nude lips as they give structure to the face. Define yours with a creamy brow shadow to avoid looking harsh and comb through with a brow gel for a glossy, immaculate finish.

Finally, for those brave enough to bare legs with thigh-high splits, always ensure you prep pins in advance. Start by creating a hair-free base! Next, to help create the illusion of beautifully long, celeb-worthy legs, use a gold-based illuminating cream. Massage from the top of your legs, down to the shins to lengthen the appearance and enhance their shape. TOP TIP: Blending in a radiance mousse is fantastic for adding extra colour to legs during the evening. Always blend gently and work around the contours of the legs.
