Anne Hathway looked beautiful at the Baftas

In true British style, the Bafta red carpet was a wash out but that didn't stop Hollywood's finest stars sparkling from head to toe.

Venus & Braun Beauty Therapist Nathalie Eleni was on site working her beauty magic and shares with us her insider tips on how to achieve some of the evening's hottest beauty trends rocked by the hottest celebs in town...

Nathalie says...

Despite the weather, there was still plenty of skin on show with pin flashing, shoulder revealing and backless ensembles gracing the red carpet.

When prepping the skin, it's important to work in advance to ensure it sparkles on the night. Firstly I make sure my clients achieve a hair free, flawless base to create the perfect surface for applying any body make up. For this I would recommend the Venus Embrace razor which has 5 blades positioned closely together to give you touchable, smooth skin. Next, it's important to work on removing any dry skin by exfoliating the body and massaging in a rich body cream to create a fresh and dewy finish.

TOP TIP: Give the mosturiser time to sink in, otherwise any make-up applied will cling to the hydrating ingredients of the lotion, instead of the skin, and slip off.

Black was the colour of choice tonight, softened by subtly tanned skin. To recreate this look mix one part fake tan to two parts oil free moisturiser to create a much gentler glow.

Apply in the morning for hydrated and 'enhanced' skin by night. On the evening itself, use skin illuminators on all areas on show, paying particular attention to collar bones and shoulders, applying a golden shimmer for a glamourous red carpet finish.

TOP TIP: To stop skin looking too shiny, I always carry translucent mineral powder in my kit bag, to lightly dust over these areas. It's also great for helping you slip into a tight dress, as it stops moisturiser sticking to the fabric.

Complimenting those little black dresses, were fabulous dark smokey eyes. Use a soft smudge-able eye kohl, that you can blend into your lash line and right out over your eye lid.

TOP TIP: To soften, set & mattify add a small amount of translucent powder on your blending brush. Facing yourself in the mirror straight on, sweep the brush back and forth from the outer corner to the inner corner following the contour of your eye.

Finally, finish with a splash of colour to nails and toe nails, blood red and nude metallic shades were popular on tonight's red carpet.

TOP TIP: When in a rush, which can often happen on a busy awards evening, add a touch of oil to drying nails to speed up the drying process and protect you from smudging. It's also a handy trick for refreshing nail colour, especially for manicures done the night before.
