Chloe SS09

Chloe SS09

Going nude is the only way to make a fashion statement this summer, and before you think we have completely taken leave of our senses, we mean the colour nude, not flashing your bits for the whole world to see!

The summer catwalks were awash with beige, muted white and sheer clothing, paired with swept back hair and minimal make-up on the designer's models.

Chloe, Blumarine, Louise Goldin and Stella McCartney all paraded some delectable nude fashion down the catwalk for SS09, signaling this is a trend to take seriously.

We've already covered nude make-up for the season ahead, not to mention revealing a new celeb trend for going nude, so now it's time to look at the new rules of nude dressing this summer...

Coral: Yes, coral isn't exactly nude, but when you're taking fashion inspiration from the Chloe catwalk, who needs to bother with such trivialities?! This colour is one of the biggies for the summer, and Chloe's take on a light peach colour paired with a boob tube and coat was one of the highlights of fashion week.

Buff: As in, 'get in the...' Only joking! Buff is one of the big nude colours for SS09, and paired with similar accessories, you'll be able to work this colour with confidence. The key is playing down any other colour, and let your outfit do the talking, like Eva Longoria did recently with her gorgeous linen dress.

Beige: This is one of the hardest colours to pull off, as it can either be classed as too safe and plain, or it will wash you out completely if you are fair skinned. It suits both blondes and brunettes, but only if you have a hint of a tan. Look at Nicole Kidman's attempts at pulling off beige and you'll see what we mean.

White: Think of this colour as your blank canvas to build your look around, not forgetting that white is practically see through most of the time too. Sheer shirts are set to be mega for the summer months ahead, so invest now and team with a coral skirt for a hot office look.

Gold: Flecks of muted gold for the summer will look amazing against tanned skin, and there are plenty of metallic designs hitting the high-street right now. Team a sexy vest with white shorts and gladiatorial sandals for a totally gorgeous beach look.
