Today is National Sugar Cookie Day- a day to celebrate the deliciousness that is the sugar cookie. These moreish treats are usually made during the holidays- but there’s no reason why you can’t celebrate them today! Here are some suggestions as to what you can do to mark the occasion…

Bake some cookies with your family- Whether it’s your partner, your kids or your mum- choose someone who loves to bake, get in all the ingredients you need and have fun with the preparation and decoration.

Go out for a cookie and a coffee- Who said the perfect combination is coffee and cake? Take your lover, your children, family member or friend out for a coffee, a cookie and a good chat!

Buy some cookies- If baking isn’t your thing, or you don’t have the time, drop by the local store on your way back from work and grab some cookies to take home with you. Enjoy with your favourite people.

Take a cookie decorating online class- There are plenty of You Tubers with videos on how to give your cookies the wow factor- pick one that appeals to you and get creative!

Book yourself onto a cookie decorating class- If you prefer to learn along with others- take a look online and find your local cookie decorating class. It will get you out the house, help you to meet like-minded people and you get to come home with gifts. What’s not to love?!

Go to your local cookie store- Millie’s Cookies comes to mind- as it’s my local cookie shop. Choose a selection of freshly baked cookies, get a giant one personalised or take a few moments to sit in their café and enjoy one right there and then!

Start to think about your festive cookie offering- We are past the half-way mark now and Christmas is creeping up on us, so why not use today to plan in what cookies you will be making for your family and friends? Order the cutters, plan out what ingredients you will need and what decorations you will adorn your creations with to make them pop.
