The Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga will continue in late 2022, when Miles Morales returns for an epic adventure that will transport the Brooklyn web-slinger across the Multiverse.

Whilst traversing all-new locations, Morales teams up with the formidable Gwen Stacey and a team of unique Spider-People who are forced to confront a villain more powerful than anybody or anything they have ever encountered before.

Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (Part One) comes from a screenplay by David Callaham, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

As the title suggests, the new instalment will be just the first part of a two-pronged mega-feature, picking up right where the last Spider-Verse film left off.

Shameik Moore makes his return as the voice of Miles Morales, with Hailee Steinfeld also back in the booth to lend her acting talents to Gwen Stacy and, Oscar Isaac reprising his role as Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099.

Exactly who the aforementioned "powerful" villain is remains to be seen, but there are rumblings that it could be Morlun and the Inheritors, as they were the antagonists for the Spider-People in the 2014 Spider-Verse comic crossover.

The Inheritors are a supervillain group that literally eat Spider-People, feeding on their life force to build upon their power. Having only made their debut appearance in that 2014 crossover, it would be great to find out some more about the group and see them appear on the big screen.
