The Baseballs

The Baseballs

The Baseballs are a German Rock'n'Roll band founded in Berlin in 2007 who became popular with rock'n'roll versions of modern hits such as Umbrella by Rihanna and Hot ‘n Cold by Katy Perry. We love them, and they’ve answered the 15 Questions We Ask Everyone.

Hello there little monsters, what are you up to?

We are ‘monstering’ around with a huge crowd! Building up a new Rock ‘n’ Roll generation and generally annoying those people who believe Rock ‘n’ Roll is dead!

So, tell me about what you’re here to promote?

Well, we are here to promote not only our band, song and album – Strike! but also an entire lifestyle. A whole music genre… we want to introduce young people to the music and style of the 1950s, naturally the best way of getting into Rock ‘n’ Roll is by buying our album!

And if we didn’t have any clue as to who you were, what should we be looking up on Google?

Googling ‘The Baseballs’ will definitely bring up our website –  ww.thebaseballs.com -  There is a lot of information about us, our music and of course you’ll find our tour dates.

And as Jacko had the Moonwalk and Elvis had the snake hips, what do you have that makes you unique?

We are three guys doing the hipshake! Elvis did it alone..! In fact, we always get some girls on stage to help us do the hip shake, Sam is an excellent teacher!

Now, clearly we need to get to know each other more, so tell me an interesting fact about you that noone else knows?

When we first met and jammed in the rehearsal studios we played ‘Blue Suede Shoes’. As we got drunk we started singing along, however it was with “schlager” vocals (German ballads!)… we were trying to do Rock ‘n’ Roll!

What song do you wish you’d written?

Last Christmas. We’d be soooo rich!

If I was contemplating coming to your show or sitting at home and TV, how would you convince me to come out?

Well you know you’d be watching TV at home and then suddenly you’d see a Baseballs ad come on – you wouldn’t need us to convince you. You’d start tapping your feet, snapping your fingers, you’d want to shake your hips and you’d just have to go to the show!

And if you were to take me on a trip to your hometown, what would be the first place we’d go?

Swimming… to a lake. A nice lake… A lonely lake… But with a Cadillac!

What’s the best prank you’ve ever pulled on someone?

For some reason Digger once told a friend that he was going to be murdered in his own room. He told him the exact date and time. Obviously it was just a silly joke and Digger forgot about it, but the friend was genuinely scared. He even told Digger later that he had a gun under his bed the night he was supposed to be killed!

And what’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done? Please tell us how it ended up!

As far as Sam is concerned it is probably spending three hours on a plane – since he is afraid of flying! Rather boring, innit?

If you had to date a member of the same sex (or opposite sex if the case may be) who would it be?

Of the same sex??? Well, maybe Ben Stiller… Still though, we’d rather meet Angelina Jolie…

Have you ever been naked in public? Elaborate.

There was a big nudist scene in former Eastern Germany. and Basti, being raised in the East, was part of it for a while… ;)

Have you ever been arrested? Again, elaborate.

No, we’re working on it…

Speaking of prison - if you were to send someone to prison for crimes against music, who would it be?

Tokio Hotel – We guess you know them, right? It´s a German teen band… Not our cup of tea!

Thanks! Have a great day,
