We al like to know how much cash other people earn, and it seems that Carrie Underwood is leading the pack when it comes to American Idol alumni earnings after netting a whopping $14 million in the past year.
Carrie has sold almost 10 million albums since she won the talent show in 2005, with her debut, Some Hearts, spending 11 weeks at the top of the album charts in the US.
Perhaps the most successful alumni, Jennifer Hudson, didn’t win Idol, but still bagged an Oscar for her role in Dreamgirls and popped up in Sex And The City: The Movie. Although she only bagged $5 million in the past 12 months, we think she should be pretty happy with that!
Also making a name for themselves in the chart are David Cook, who won the show last year and earned close to $2 million in the past 12 months, whilst his rival in the final, David Archuleta has also had a remarkable time since June 2008, earning around $1.3 million from sales of his self-titled debut.
Kelly Clarkson holds the title of most albums sold by an alumnus and she earned $4.2 million last year.
