The Beeb is to stop its £150million online teaching service which 170,000 kids make use of.

BBC Jam for five to 16 year olds will finish on 20 March.

The Mirror newspaper says that BBC chiefs disclosed the "unprecedented" move was made after protests were received that it used public money wrongly to damage private rivals.
