Reykjavik

Iceland, the colourful land of fire and ice, is proud to show off its pink side in a brand new gay friendly package from tour operator, Express Travel.

Based in a city that is run by Europe’s first lesbian Prime Minister, the package will showcase Reykjavik’s LGBT scene and will allow travellers to learn more about the growth of Iceland’s gay community, while offering free time to enjoy the capital.

The exclusive package, which has been put together by the sister company of low-fare airline, Iceland Express, will include a three-night stay in a ‘gay friendly’ apartment hotel in Reykjavik, a city tour with a personal gay guide and return flights from London with Iceland Express.

“Sexual liberation and freedom is taken very seriously in Reykjavik so we have put together our new package in order for visitors to see how warm and welcoming a country Iceland is – however cold the weather gets,” said Inga Jessen, project manager at Express Travel.

“Reykjavik is home to a lesbian Prime Minister, an ever increasing gay community and a very popular yearly Pride celebration, and we are very proud to showcase this to our gay visitors.”

Accommodation will be in a superior, large studio room with kitchenette and private bathroom at the Room with a View Hotel, which is based on Reykjavik’s main street (Laugavegur) and is surrounded by a selection of fantastic shops and restaurants.
