The Motel One room

The Motel One room

If you’re heading to the lovely city that is Edinburgh, staying somewhere luxury may be an option for some, but if you’re looking for convenient and comfortable, then we have just the thing.

The Motel One Edinburgh on Princes Street is in a prime location and the décor is modern, stylish and sleek.

If you’re getting the train to Scotland then it’s perfect as the station is a stone’s throw away from the hotel, which is perfectly located between the New Town and Old Town, and the hotel looks out onto the beautiful Princes Street gardens, stunning scenery and the ideal place for a picnic.

The décor in the hotel is stripped back, very modern and very clean. Everything is brown and white with a bold addition of teal.

Upon arrival you’ll be greeted by plenty of staff behind the front desk to ensure you’re checked in quickly and easily, you’ll also be informed that you need to put a deposit down for coffee and tea making facilities to be in the room, which is £10, but if you know you’re not going to be taking the kettle home with you, it’s definitely not a problem. The only issue you is that they give it to you there and then, so you may struggle with the bags. I’d definitely recommend coming down for this at a different time.

It’s also the same with iron and iron board, another £10 deposit was needed for this.

The room is completely simplistic, with a bed, TV, chair and desk but when you’re heading to such a wonderful city like Edinburgh and you’re not going to be spending much time in there, it’s hardly an issue.

The rooms are incredibly well kept, and the simple décor highlights just how clean the whole hotel is too.

We also tried the breakfast at the hotel, which is incredibly laid out with a huge selection of continental pieces, it doesn’t get too crowded either.

Motel One Edinburgh was truly a delightful hotel that definitely exceeded expectations. The location, cleanliness and price are easily the biggest selling points of the hotel and if you’re off to explore the beautiful city of Edinburgh this is the first place I would recommend to stay.

Prices start from £70 per night, and you can book them on www.motel-one.com/en/
