6 Must-Have Summer Reads

1. Beat the Reaper by Josh Frizzell

“If you want a zinging beach read, you can’t do any better. It is hilarious, fabulous, terrifying and there are sharks!”

2. Bleeding Edge by Thomas Pynchon

“This is an absolutely storming strange thriller set in run up to 9/11.  It is incredibly exciting, long and engrossing. If you are on the beach it is perfect.”

3. Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

“It is the first time I have ever cared about a zombie book. It is great, fun, strange and will make you smile.”

4. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

“This is a long, involved and tensely plotted conspiracy. It is a remarkable read and will leave you breathless - perfect for reading by the sea!”

5. Red Doc by Anne Carson

“When I am on holiday I need to read something a bit weird. Red Doc is strange, affecting, and very exciting. I guarantee it will blow your mind.”

6. One for the children

“Finally – for me Winnie the Pooh. I grew up with them, and they are still completely engrossing.”

‘Tigerman’ is about geopolitics, the 24 hour news culture, comic books, drug smuggling and the search for justice. But Nick says that: “Most of all it’s about becoming a dad. I was becoming a dad when I started writing it, so it is a very personal book for me."
