Friends - Rachel and Ross

Brief History: Ross and Rachel is a very profound relationship out of all the other relationships on friends. Ever since high school Ross had been in love with Rachel. Ross and Rachel had a very loving relationship when they got together which developed from season 1.

A year later they broke up. Through the years it was a complicated situation between Ross and Rachel. Throughout the seasons they got married, divorced and then had a child together. The series ends with them as a couple.

The O.C. - Marissa and Ryan 

Brief History: Marissa and Ryan get together in the first season, they have quite a turbulant, drama filled relationship, which at times draws them apart.

However, they always loved each other throughout the series and Marissa dies in the arms of Ryan in season 3.

True Blood - Sookie and Bill

Brief History: Bill met Sookie out one night in a  Stackhouse, working as a waitress. He was besotted at at first sight.

He was even more intrigued when Sookie saved him from being drained by Mack and Denise Rattray. Sookie was taken with Bill because she couldn't read his mind.

Vampire Diaries - Elena and Stefan

Brief History: Elena and Stephan have been in love from the first season on Vampire Diaries.

A love triangle does exist between Elena, Stephan and Stephan’s brother Damon, but it is Stephan that Elena loves and there relationship blossoms. 

The Sopranos - Tony and Carmela

Brief History: Carmela was Tony Soprano's high school sweetheart and they married at a young age. However, the pair were put under great strains with Tony constantly being unfaithful and has even led to them being separated for some time.

Her resentment of her husband's infidelity has often driven her to the brink of breaking her marriage vows.

Everybody Loves Raymond - Ray and Debra

Brief History: Raymond Barone and Debra constantly have marital disagreements, with Raymond Barone preferring to watch sports television instead of talking with Debra about important matters.

Raymond Barone works full time, leaving all the child-rearing responsibilities to Debra, this leads to Debra having to bully Raymond into doing any house work.

The couple have long discussions before going to sleep each night about their domestic duties which has become a recurring theme of the show.

Entourage - E and Sloan

Brief History: Eric and Sloan’s relationship develops right from season 1. At the beginning of season four, Eric said that he and Sloan are "on a break", however it is revealed later in the season that they have indeed broken up and that Sloan has moved on.

In the end, Eric finally realises that Sloan is the only one he wants to be with and he proposes to her.

This reassures Sloan that E is finally ready to commit and they become engaged.

Dallas - Bobby and Pam

Brief History: This was a Romeo and Juliette romance, they met at a barbecue at Southfork, and later fell in love and eloped to New Orleans.

When they returned Bobby’s family were mortified at the marriage. Bobby’s brother JR, in particular despised Pam and even accused her of being a spy for her brother Cliff Barnes (rival family) who was building a case against Ewing Oil (Jock Ewing’s business).

The O.C - Seth and Summer

Brief History: Seth and Summer’s relationship centres around a 'will they wont they' theme. 

Seth having always been besotted by Summer and Summer, being the most popular girl in school, unsure about whether she wants to allow her true feelings show and be seen to be in a relationship with Seth.

In the end, their love conquers the pressures of high school life and they begin a very loving and comical relationship.

Gossip Girl - Serena and Dan

Brief History: Serena and Dan begin dating in the first season of Gossip Girl, Serena is the 'it girl' and the most popular girl at school while Dan is the new boy who comes from a family of little wealth compared to Serena.

Their love blossoms over season 1 but deteriorates over season 2 and 3 where they both date other people.

Curb Your Enthusiasm - Larry and Cheryl

Brief History: Larry and Cheryl have been together from the first season. Cheryl is the only person who knows how to deal with Larry’s odd behaviour, and although they often bicker; their love pulls them through.

Gossip Girl - Chuck and Blair

Brief History: At first, both characters deny their feelings for one another, and go through numerous schemes and manipulations.

After all the games are done, both of them eventually admit their love for each other and both declare "I love you".

One Tree Hill - Lucas and Peyton

Brief History: Lucas and Peyton were the Ross and Rachel relationship of One Tree Hill. She was dating the head of the basketball team, which unbenknown to Lucas was in fact his brother.

Lucas began dating Peyton’s best friend, Brook, but as Lucas and Peyton got to know each other more, their relationship which developed became the focus for the rest of the series and they end up married with a child.
