Being Human

Being Human

Being Human will end for good this year, with both BBC Three and the show’s creator and writer Toby Whitehouse confirming that this will be the final series of the show.

Despite having just refreshed its cast, something we praised last week, the show will come to close after these latest half-dozen episodes. This is the second much loved BBC Three drama series to have been cancelled in the last two years, with the Bafta winning drama The Fades having a similar fate last year.

The show’s executive producer Rob Pursey said that the show has “opened the door to new acting talent, including some incredibly exciting younger actors, which is a legacy we all feel proud of. We will miss Being Human, but feel inspired that there is a place for series like this on British television.”

BBC Three’s controller Zai Bennett also wanted to praise the show saying “Being Human has been a fantastic and faithful friend to BBC Three. It’s featured some truly exceptional actors and storylines through the years and I’d like to thank Toby and the production team for their vision and passion.”

Being Human was easily the most successful of BBC Three’s original dramas, for years the channels highest ratings grabber and even spawning its own US remake.
