The 'Strictly Come Dancing' co-host turned 50 years old in January, and after hitting the milestone the star realised she wanted to work more and be "less risk-averse".

She said: "I turned 50 and thought I’d start saying yes to things.

"I mean, it’s 50, and we’re only here for two minutes, so I felt like I wanted to work a bit more and be less risk-averse.

"I love it, I love being 50. Everything’s falling apart physically, it is like my skin is completely made of crepe paper now, who knew?"

Claudia is concerned nobody will like her new BBC psychological reality show 'The Traitors' - which begins on Tuesday night (29.11.22) at 9.30pm - but admits she became "really obsessed" with the programme.

She added to The Sun newspaper: "I’ve always just really liked playing bridge, and a heavy tog duvet. And at 50 you can do all of that and you don’t have to make any excuses. You’re no longer the odd one out.

"But then my eldest left home for university and I was asked to do this show and I just thought, ‘I just can’t say no’.

"I got in way too deep on that show. I’m really obsessed, but also worried nobody’s going to like it. It’s like giving birth again."

In May, it was confirmed Claudia would be heading to the Scottish Highlands to present 'The Traitors', a new show based on a Dutch format which will see players complete physical and mental missions for a chance to win up to £120,000.

In the show, she will choose a small number of contestants to become 'The Traitors', who will "murder" a teammate every night but face eviction if caught out the next day.

In a statement, Claudia said: "I’m obsessed by psychological games and I couldn’t stop watching the Dutch version of the show. The fact that the BBC version is set in a castle in Scotland and the producers want me to wear tweed meant I was all in."

At the end of the game the cash prize will only be won if the remaining contestants are all on team Faithful, but if a Traitor has managed to reach the final of the game, they alone will win the cash and the others will leave with nothing.
