The BBC have confirmed that Doctor Who's 50th anniversary special will air on Saturday November 23 at 7.50pm.

'The Day of the Doctor' has been written by Steven Moffan, and the first footage will be shown not only on BBC One, but globally in cinemas.

This special extended episode will see the Doctors go out on their greatest adventure yet.

As the Doctor's past returns to haunt him, it's revealed that something terrible is stirring in the National Gallery in London.

Meanwhile, in 1562 we see that a plot to murder is taking place in Elizabethan England.

Not to be left out, an ancient battle in space is also reaching its devestating end.

All of mankind and reality is at the hands of the Doctors - could the 50th anniversary mark the end?
