There’s plenty of worry for Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) this week in Emmerdale, as she faces uncertainty from Juliette Holliday (Amelia Curtis) who returns to the village and steps up her fight in a bid to claim parental rights with her and Jimmy King’s (Nick Miles) son, Carl.
Suggesting the two talk face-to-face, Nicola invites Juliette into the family home without consulting with Jimmy first, so when he gets home and sees the women engaged in conversation, he feels utterly betrayed.
Once Juliette leaves, he tells Nicola that if Juliette is successful in her bid to take Carl away from the family, he’ll never be able to forgive her.
With their marriage on the line, could this be the end of the road for one of soap’s most persevering couples?
Elsewhere, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) continues to worry about whether or not her relationship with her family will be able to recover, signing away the rights to her share of the pub in a bid to get them back onside.
Showing that she is serious about making amends, will she be able to win some favour once more, or is it too late?
Spotting that she appears to be lonely, Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) approaches to see if she’s able to give him any advice about his own situation. When she answers with complete honesty, he’s taken aback.
The week will conclude with Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) going into labour; a major moment for any soap character. Doubled over in pain but convinced it’s Braxton Hicks, both Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) rush over to help.
With Tracy’s waters breaking, it becomes clear that she needs to get to a hospital as soon as possible. Despite being supposed to meet Moira Barton (Natalie J. Robb) at a hotel, Cain runs off to get his car, leaving both Tracy and Nate panicked.
