The TV presenter turned 61 yesterday (30.11.20) and her 'Lorraine' team treated her by arranging a video interview with the Hollywood heartthrob, and she was stunned when he broke out into song mid-interview, as she conducted the chat from her house via video link.

She explained: "He said, 'Let me get this straight - it's your birthday? I'm going to tell you right now we have a Clooney birthday song that we sing. It's not the normal one.

"'It goes like this, "Well they say it's your birthday, that's what we've been told/ what a wonderful birthday, you're another year old/ on your cake there will be candles all coloured, it's true/ and the whole world is singing happy birthday to you." There's a different birthday song.' "

Lorraine admitted it was an "utterly surreal" moment as 'The Midnight Sky' star serenaded her.

Speaking on 'Lorraine', she said: "I was sitting there in my living room in my slippers with a cup of tea and it was utterly surreal.

"What a delightful man. We knew he was, but he just proves it time and time again."

Lorraine's birthday delight comes after the star revealed she got "extremely drunk" following the news she will be honoured with a CBE.

She said: "It's a great excuse - I got extremely drunk on Friday night. I just thought ... I would have anyway, but I got even more so. It was lovely!"
