Holly Willoughby is said to have been approached by Netflix for a new jungle-based series

The former 'This Morning' presenter - who will make her TV return on Sunday (14.01.24) when she co-hosts 'Dancing on Ice' again, after quitting the brunch-time show in October - is thought to be wanted by the streaming giant to front a new show, which will star explorer Bear Grylls.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Bear is working with a production company for Netflix. They want Holly to host.

"A group of celebrities will be put into a jungle where they will have to tackle a series of challenges."

In the series, contestants are expected to be pitted against Bear.

The source added: "If they lose, they’ll have to pit their wits against Bear, who will be hunting them down.

"It’s a really exciting concept and Bear is totally on board. Now they have Holly in their sights to host it.

"She is very glamorous and an accomplished host.

"Holly is open to offers. She won’t be rushing into anything and will be carefully cherry-picking her next projects."

Should Holly take on the job, it wouldn't be her first time presenting in the jungle, after she co-hosted one series of ITV's 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' in 2018 alongside Declan Donnelly, temporarily taking the place of Dec's regular co-presenter Ant McPartlin.

Holly quit 'This Morning' in October, following the discovery of an alleged plot to kidnap her, but she is to make her small screen return on Sunday when she returns to present the ice-skating show alongside new co-host Stephen Mulhern.

The 'Catchphrase' host has replaced Phillip Schofield, who quit ITV last year after admitting he lied to bosses of the brunchtime show about an "unwise, but not illegal" affair with a younger male colleague.

Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV, recently confirmed Holly will return to the show alongside Stephen.

She said: "Holly and Stephen are two of our best loved presenters, so reuniting them 20 years after they first appeared on screen together to host 'Dancing on Ice' marks the start of an exciting year for the show.

"Celebrating 20 years since they first worked together on 'Ministry of Mayhem', Willoughby and Mulhern will preside over the action on the high octane skating show as this year’s celebrities compete to become champion of the ice.

"Judges Torvill and Dean, Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse are back on the panel."
