Now, a second season has been confirmed with Krysten Ritter in the leading role once more, but details surrounding the new storyline have been kept closely guarded and underwraps, with the new episodes unlikely to broadcast until at least 2017.

However, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg has now teased some of her ideas for season 2 in an interview with ET.

She said: "Jessica Jones, her journey is a very personal one, it's very intimate. So, the guys coming in to take over the city, she doesn't really care, she's like 'Take us down, I just need to pay my rent.' Whatever we do, it will be personal to her. It will be a personal story."

Jessica Jones season 1 is available now on Netflix, alongside Daredevil seasons 1 and 2. Luke Cage season 1 debuts on September 30, with Iron Fist, The Defenders and Jessica Jones season 2 following some time thereafter.
