The Witcher is one of the most popular series on Netflix, with Henry Cavill’s portrayal of Geralt of Rivia being a hit with fans of the game and book series, of which the show is based. Now, a new spin-off is on its way, and fans are getting excited...

Season 2 of The Witcher is now streaming on Netflix, and in a surprise post-credit scene, the trailer for The Witcher: Blood Origin was seen.

The original series follows Geralt, a Witcher (a magical being) who struggles to find his place in the world among monsters, humans, and beasts. Fand adored Cavill’s live-action version of the video game character, and praised his mannerisms and commitment to the craft.

The show combines a magical sense of atmosphere with a dark narrative that sees Geralt face a whole manner of creatures, as well as some challenging human foes.

However, in a post-credit scene for Season 2's final episode of The Witcher, the trailer for Blood Origin was shown.

The trailer for Blood Origin revealed the cast of the new series for the very first time, which includes Sophia Brown (Éile), Laurence O’Fuarain (Fjall), Michelle Yeoh (Scían), Mirren Mack (Merwyn), Lenny Henry (Balor), Jacob Collins-Levy (Eredin), Lizzie Annis (Zacaré), Huw Novelli (Callan “Brother Death”), Francesca Mills (Meldof), Amy Murray (Fenrik), Nathaniel Curtis (Brían), with Zach Wyatt (Syndril), and Dylan Moran (Uthrok One-Nut).

With the release of Blood Origin in 2022, fans can witness the never-before-told history of the Continent; the upcoming show will be a prequel to The Witcher, set in an elven world 1200 years before the original series.

Blood Origins will tell a tale that has been lost to time. It will delve into the creation of the first ever prototype Witcher, and the events that resulted in the significant ‘Conjunction of the Spheres’, where the realms of monsters, men and elves merged together.

The first look images for the upcoming prequel series showcase some of the amazing new cast that will be joining The Witcher universe; it seems a though it will be in true Witcher style, as there appears to be brawls, weapons, and men and women who have readied their weapons for war.

The Witcher: Blood Origin will release in 2022, exclusively on Netflix.
