Alison Hammond has admitted she's happy to become the poster women for larger ladies as she prepares to make her dancing debut on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing.

At the press launch on Tuesday September 2, Alison said: "I'm waving the flag for all of them. The curvy girls, fat girls, obese girls, I'm waving it for the lot of them.

"I do believe anyone can do anything. It doesn't matter what colour you are, what size you are, if you want to do something, then do it."

She also revealed that comments from the judges won't phase her, because of activity she's witnessed on social media.

"You know what, I've got Twitter so I'm kind of used to things like that. You've just got to deal with it haven't you? Kind of love the haters, it drives me to do better."

She has four dance partners in mind, and joked that she'll need a man with big muscles.

"I need somebody with a strong back! Because obviously I'm quite heavy and they need to lift me over their head, so it's going to be somebody with a really... I might need four dancers! I've got four in mind."

Strictly Come Dancing launches this Sunday at 8pm.
