James Jordan on Strictly with Vanessa Feltz

James Jordan has hit out at the BBC following his axe from Strictly Come Dancing.

The broadcaster confirmed James and fellow professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev would not return for the new series of the ballroom dancing competition, but James has told his fans not to "believe" BBC's statement about his departure.

It's claimed James rejected a reduced role on the series, appearing on one-off specials as opposed to partnering with a celebrity on the new series.

The dancer hit back on Twitter: "WELL TWEEPS Yes it's true I WILL NOT be returning to 'BURN THE FLOOR'.... Sorry, I mean 'Strictly Come Dancing' However do not believe everything the BBC have written in their statement. (sic)"

James' wife Ola Jordan is confirmed to return to the show, despite previous speculation she would quit after an altercation with fellow dancer Karen Hauer last year.

Meanwhile, Artem announced that his departure from the hit show is due to visa issues.

He tweeted: "I want to say thank you to all my followers for your endless support I will miss SCD,UK very very much let's hope my visa situation will change in the future that is the reason I decide to stay in US to sort my citizenship (sic)"

The new series of 'Strictly' will see two new dancers join the show - veteran star Kevin Clifton's sister Joanne Clifton will partner with a celebrity contestant, as will 'Dancing with the Stars' pro Tristan McManus.

The hunky American has danced with Pamela Anderson and Gladys Knight on the US equivalent of 'Strictly'.
