Mark Wright is expecting his Essex friends to "rip him" when he competes in Strictly Come Dancing.

Revealing that his glittery dance costumes will make him the subject of mockery, the star spoke out at the Strictly press launch on Tuesday, September 2.

"I'm not expecting and I'm genuinely not expecting to be amazing because I've never done it before. So if I get negative comments, I suppose, well I'm expecting, if I get good comments, I'll be really, really happy because it will be a bit of a shock. But the Essex boys are going to rip me from the start. That's a given." Mark said.

The BBC One series is famous for its over the top camp designs, but despite his reservations the 27-year-old has now admitted he's actually enjoying the sparkles.

"At first, it was like, one of the things I'm dreading but since I've had it on and I said to them, 'Keep it as little glitter as you can.' Since I've had it on, I've been like, 'Just add a bit more glitter here'. And I'm sort of getting into the swing of it."

His partner Michelle Keegan hasn't yet seen Mark in his new get-up: ""She'll probably just say, 'Embrace it, enjoy it.' Or probably laugh at me."

Strictly Come Dancing launches this Sunday.
