Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) is left brokenhearted, knowing that he likely doesn’t have a future with Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and so confides in his mother Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) about potentially leaving Weatherfield behind all over again, in favour of a job in Bromsgrove.

With Billy back on the market, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) starts the week out by teasing him about his nights on the town, where he claims to have met somebody he’s grown romantically-attached to. Billy’s left devastated and so, when Eileen corners him and blames him for her son wanting to leave Coronation Street behind, he’s hurt.

Approaching Todd, he asks him not to go on his account, but Todd is left admitting that Billy is the love of his life, and the only way he’d stay on the cobbles would be if he were to be in a relationship with the vicar.

When Paul later in the week admits he was lying about meeting somebody with whom he’d fallen in love with, Billy is left with a major decision to make. Will he stick to single life? Or will either Todd or Paul have won him back?

Meanwhile, things are still tense between Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) following the former’s kiss with Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu). Hoping that he can get his family life back on track, Fiz tells him it’s possible, but only if he does something for her.

We find out what that is when he confronts Alina on Friday (April 2nd, 2021) and asks her to leave the street so he can work on keeping his family together. Exactly how she’ll react to this however, remains to be seen…

Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) faces further personal turmoil when Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) tells Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) that she has started seeing a new man, leaving him confused about where to turn.

When he reveals to Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovec) that he and Leanne are over for good however, she feels a flicker of hope about potentially rekindling their old flame and making a go of things all over again.

Coronation Street continues on ITV this week on Monday (double episode), Thursday (hour-long episode) and Friday (hour-long episode).
