The loveable farm boy - portrayed by Kelvin Fletcher - is set to be thrown behind bars after his jealous lover (Louise Marwood) sets him up for the brutal attack of her father Lawrence White (John Bowe) in a bid to save her son Lachlan (Thomas Atkinson) from going down for the it.

Louise said: "Andy is going to bear the brunt of all the damage that Chrissie has suffered over the years. This is the catalyst that makes her snap!

"Chrissie is going to be a real soap bitch from now on and the audience have been shown all of the reasons that someone can end up like that."

The tragic drama unfolds at Home Farm when Lawrence returns to his mansion to discover his grandson waiting for him with a loaded gun after they locked horns earlier on.

As the wealthy businessman attempts to snatch the weapon from the teenager, Lachlan accidentally pulls the trigger and Lawrence is thrown across the floor.

Louise explained: "Chrissie doesn't plan anything - she's thinking on her feet about protecting Lachy. She has tunnel vision where he is concerned and she blames circumstances for doing this to him.

"But as she begins to plot a scheme for framing Andy, Chrissie finds something in herself - and she really relishes it. It starts something off inside her."

Chrissie is spurred on to frame her boyfriend after she finds out he shared a smooch with his ex-girlfriend Bernice White - who is married to the brunette beauty's father Lawrence - behind her back a few weeks ago.

Kelvin told Inside Soap magazine: "Andy and Bernice have a connection but the timing is always wrong."
