The cost of a hen or stag do has reached a staggering £300 as Brits look for more extravagant ways to mark their last few hours of single life.

The research by www.LateRooms.com reveals that stags dos are generally more expensive than hen dos- some stags have even shelled out over £1,000 on their friend's pre wedding party.
Typical activities for stags include quad biking or paintballing- the more active choices whereas hens opt for something a little less adrenaline charged like going to a spa or attending a cocktail making class.
A whopping 50% say they dread the occasion coming around due to cost being too high, drinking games getting out of hand or being humiliated by their fellow stags or hens.
Surprisingly, over a third of men would rather do something more low key- like a meal or spa day. The opposite can be said for women who want to crank up the adventure.
Drinking lots seems to be the theme of the evening whatever activities the hen or stag chooses and many admit to forgetting the night due to alcoholic overindulgence. Some even report not going back to the accommodation they booked because they stayed out too late or they shared a bed with someone new.
