To dream about bagpipes and to establish their meaning depends on how you feel about them in your waking hours.

If you find them irritating, then perhaps seeing them in your dreamscape represents something that has become a consistent problem for you in your waking hours.

Can you distance yourself from whatever it is that annoying you or can you do something about it? If so, it might be time to make a move to stop it from distracting you anymore.

If you enjoy listening to bagpipes in your waking hours or indeed you play them, the dream might be linked to something you like to do. Consider what else was in the dream or who was with you as this might give you greater insight into its meaning. Perhaps you need to see more of someone or do more of something in order to make yourself happy again. If you once played the bagpipes as a hobby, this could be the very thing you are missing and need to take up again.

If you were playing the bagpipes in your dream and the people around you were clearly unimpressed by your performance, maybe you are deliberately  trying to make someone else’s life uncomfortable right now. What are your motivations for this? Is there another way to handle this situation? Perhaps you are being insensitive and you need to think about things from their point of view.

Bagpipes are usually associated with Scotland or Ireland, so it’s possible you are missing these places if you haven't visited them in a while, especially if you have family over there. The dream might be telling you to be patient- to stay in touch with the people you miss as best you can and to remember that you will be reunited eventually.

Take each word in turn, could the dream be referring to some baggage that you are currently carrying around? If so, how can you unburden yourself from it? Do you need some professional help, or just the ear of a trusted friend?

Could the item you saw mean that you have one too many pipe dreams? In other words you are setting yourself unattainable goals or have fanciful hopes for yourself. If so, perhaps you need to decide what dreams are realistic for you and consider the steps you need to get you there.

Do you have something in the pipeline? If you are making progress with something in your life, the dream could simply be telling you to keep going.

Finally, the dream could be a pun for ‘pipe down’- if you are quick to offer your opinion, perhaps it isn’t wanted or necessary in a situation in your waking hours, so you may just need to keep quiet and keep your thoughts to yourself on this occasion.

If the pier was filled with arcades and restaurants and was a hive of activity, perhaps you yearn for more socialisation and buzz in your waking hours. Even more so if you have been deprived of this for some time. On the flipside, if the buildings on the pier were all boarded or smashed up, have you felt a huge loss in your social circle or have relationships that were fun to be part of been damaged? Cast your mind back to your childhood- was a pier such as this a consistent form of entertainment on holidays or weekends? If so, perhaps you need to take something from this time and apply it to the here and now. Are you depriving yourself of fun? Maybe you need to inject a little more laughter and lightheartedness into your life… to read more click HERE
