Can you see yourself skinny?

Can you see yourself skinny?

Forget using pictures of models and celebrities for thinspiration when you're on a diet. Now you can see what you're going to look like at your ideal weight.

An innovative new website has been launched to inspire dieters by generating images of their future slimmer self.

New research has revealed that only 6 per cent of the population sustain their diet until they have reached their goal weight.

TheRealYouPhotoShoot.com has launched to help dieters stay motivated and inspired so they can successfully reach their goal, by using technology that generated images of what they'd look like at their target body size.

While seeing the weight drop off the scales and clothes feeling looser were cited as top reasons for staying motivated, research shows that these alone aren't enough for dieters to stay on track.

Users simply upload a headshot, select their target body and preferred style of clothing before they’re presented with an image of what they’d look like at their ideal size. There are different styles to choose from; evening, day and sporty. Dieters can then download their ‘new look’ picture which they could stick on their fridge as motivation.

Research by new weight loss aid XLS-Medical Fat Binder, the creators of the ‘Real You Photo Shoot’, has also shown that two out of 10 dieters experience their first relapse just four to five days in, suggesting that dieters are in need of new ‘thinspiration’. Futhermore, one in 10 dieters have been trying to shift the additional pounds their entire adult lives.

Juliet Oosthuysen, spokesperson for XLS-Medical Fat Binder, comments: “We wanted to find a more unique way of supporting and motivating people while on their weight loss journeys. www.TheRealYouPhotoShoot.com helps dieters visualise the end result, so the goal is clearly in sight. It also means dieters can throw away unrealistic ‘model’ pictures or their ‘unflattering’ photos that may be stuck to their fridges and replace with a photo of the real them!”
