If you couldn’t get enough of the film BAFTAs back in March, there’s yet more excitement as the Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards arrived at Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday night (May 8). As usual, we homed in on some of the best dressed stars on the red carpet and swooned over some of the jaw-dropping gowns.

Jodie Comer

To pick up her Best Actress gong for Channel 4 drama Help, Jodie Comer donned a plunging black tuxedo-esque gown by Boss with a centre split, lapels and buttons down the front. The ultra sexy look was set off by a Messika diamond necklace and simple black peep-toe Jimmy Choo heels.

Nicola Coughlan

Not one for subtlety in either of her major roles in Bridgerton and Derry Girls, Nicola Coughlan shared the same sentiment in her red carpet look. Her pinkish-purple organza ballgown by Valentino made sure she stood out, with large bows and a ruffled hem flattering her voluptuous physique.

Jasmine Jobson

Nominated in 2020 for her role as Jaq in Top Boy, Jasmine Jobson returned to the BAFTA TV Awards in a silver pleated Grecian-style dress that showed off her legs and contrasted stunningly with her golden braids.

Michelle Keegan

While on the subject of Grecian gowns, the always-stunning Brassic star Michelle Keegan wore a sensational pink Zuhair Murad number on the red carpet; an asymmetrical off-the-shoulder piece which gave us major princess vibes alongside her perfect brunette waves and silver heels.

Rochelle Humes

Daytime TV star Rochelle Humes went bridal with an all-lace, mermaid-style, ivory dress with long sleeves. It was a bold move, but it seriously paid off. Not that we’re surprised; when has Rochelle ever been anything other than the picture of elegance on the red carpet?

Sheila Atim

Theatre superstar Sheila Atim MBE, who you may recognise from Netflix’s The Irregulars, Halle Berry’s movie Bruised and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, absolutely stunned in a sheer black Dior gown with sewn-in cape and a plunging neckline. The simplicity of the look drew attention to her striking features, and was extraordinarily graceful on her slender frame.

Eleanor Tomlinson

Another more simple look was The Outlaws star Eleanor Tomlinson’s white silk gown by Galvan. It was a clingy number with spaghetti straps and subtle cut-out detail around the decolletage. Frankly, as a redhead, Tomlinson can stand out in the simplest of dresses and we’re here for it.
