There is a joke in the film about a stalker. Have you ever been stalked?

Yes I have been stalked. I’ve had a few. But one in particular showed up at my house and slept outside of it for a week. He stole my cat then pretended to find him for me. It was very weird.

Your character gives up a guy for a friend in the film. Is this the real Paris you’ve been hiding? Are you good to your friends?

Yes that’s really how I am in real life with my friends and my family and the people who do know me. People who think they know me it’s just kind of like the media’s character they’ve made up. It’s not who I really am.

What do you think when people say bad stuff about you?

I don’t really pay attention to what people say about me because I know people sometimes feel they have an obligation to be mean about me for some reason and I can’t really change their opinion but I’m proud of myself and that’s all that matters to me.

What’s better being single or being in a relationship?

It’s hard for me to be in a relationship right now with my schedule, I’m always travelling.

But you are managing to date Benji Madden. What do you look for in a man?

Someone who can make me laugh. They have to be sweet, fun to be around and honest.

What turns you off about a man?

Someone who is rude, that turns me off. I hate it if they lie, or they brag.

How would you describe yourself to someone who doesn't know you?

I’m a sweet person with a big heart and I’m having the time of my life and I’m very happy. I just want to make people smile. I want to bring some colour into the world.

You have your finger in many business pies. What product lines do you have now?

I have clothing and perfume. I have books, shoes, hair extensions, watches, jewellery. I do the designs and I wouldn’t put my name on anything I didn’t believe in. I have five fragrances and I wear them myself. Today I am wearing ‘Can Can’.

What is your favourite area?

You know what it’s really hard to pick because I have so much fun doing everything but I really love fashion and actually I just launched my own shoe line. I have so many products I am doing!

It’s fun, but I definitely want to venture more into opening my own hotels, my own nightclubs and stores and restaurants and just getting more involved with real estate but that will be when I am older.

Where will we find your shoes?

Macy’s, Kitson and a bunch of other stores.

Britney’s falling to pieces, how do you stay so calm with all this fame?

Not to take it so seriously. I’m literally having the time of my life, I’ve never been happier and I don’t know people shouldn’t take everything so seriously and let things bother them.

I don’t pay attention to the media and paparazzi or any of that I try to have my real friends around me and my family and all my animals and pets. I have a lot of normal friends.

Finally what’s next for you? Would you like to do some more dramatic roles?

Yes definitely. My next role is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, who worked on all the Saw film. Paul Sorvino plays my dad and Sarah Brightman plays my nemesis.

It’s a musical horror film and I’m not blonde in the movie. I have different hair and eyes. It was fun and awesome to get a role like that. Its called ‘Repo! The Genetic Opera’. I sing 12 songs in it.
