Angelina Jolie is set to return to the big screen and the director's chair later this year with her new relationship drama By The Sea.

By The Sea

Jolie has written, directed and starred in the film as she reunites with Brad Pitt on screen for the first time since the success of Mr & Mrs Smith ten years ago - hard to believe that movie was released back in 2005.

By The Sea is the first time that we have seen Jolie in the director's chair since Unbroken and it is set to be the most intimate movie that she has made yet.

We are going to have to wait until December to see Brad and Angelina together again in film, but the brand new trailer for the movie has arrived and we have it for you to take a look at:

2015 has been a quite film year for Pitt and we haven't seen him on the big screen since Fury at the back end of 2014. I don't know about you, but I cannot wait to see these two actors working together again.

Mélanie Laurent, Melvil Poupaud, Niels Arestrup and Richard Bohringer join Jolie and Pitt on the cast list.

By the Sea follows an American writer named Roland (Pitt) and his wife, Vanessa (Jolie), who arrive in a tranquil and picturesque seaside resort in 1970s France, their marriage in apparent crisis.

As they spend time with fellow travellers, including young newlyweds Lea (Laurent) and François (Poupaud), and village locals Michel (Arestrup) and Patrice (Bohringer), the couple begins to come to terms with unresolved issues in their own lives.

Jolie really has made a splash as a director in the last couple of years; it is always exciting to see her back in the director's chair and tackling a very different movie project than what we have seen her deliver before.

By The Sea is released 11th December.
