As another month nears its end, we’ve decided to look ahead once more to see some of the films that will be making their way to the big screen this September, and let us start by telling you, it’s a mixed bag! With that in mind, we’ve got here 5 Movies You Have To Watch This September

1. IT – Released Friday, September 8

From Warner Bros. Pictures comes the brand new movie adaptation of Stephen King’s classic horror novel IT. As children begin to disappear in the small town of Derry, Maine, a group of youngsters are faced with their biggest fears and challenge to-date as they go to battle against an evil entity known as Pennywise, who takes up the form of a clown and whose murder and violence dates back for centuries. Bill Skarsgard stars as the villainous monster, whilst an ensemble of young actors is sure to impress, including Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer and Nicholas Hamilton. Muschietti directs from a screenplay by Chase Palmer and Cary Fukunaga alongside Gary Dauberman.

2. mother! – Released Friday, September 15

Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Barden lead this thriller from director and writer Darren Aronofsky, with the likes of Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer also starring. When uninvited guests arrive at a couple’s home who have previously been enjoying a tranquil and peaceful life, things start to go wrong and things get very strange in this mysterious outing from the creator of Black Swan. Expect a meaty box office taking for mother!

3. First They Killed My Father

This Netflix original comes from director Angelina Jolie, and adapts the works of Cambodian author and human rights activist Loung Ung, who wrote her memoir following her survival of the deadly Khmer Rouge regime between 1975-78. Told through her eyes at the age of five, the film will see the Khmer Rouge come to power and hold a firm grip over proceedings in the area.

4. Kingsman: The Golden Circle – Released Wednesday, September 20

Introduced in The Secret Service, the heroes of Kingsman make their return once more in a sequel that will see them take on a brand new challenge, and one that will put them to the test like never before. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, they must work with a US allied spy organisation called Statesman to defeat their common enemy. Matthew Vaughn directs, with Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges all starring.

5. Flatliners – Released Friday, September 29

Five medical students delve deeply into their obsession with what lies beyond life in Flatliners, embarking on a dangerous experiment that sees their hearts stopped for short periods of time, trigger near-death experiences with each and giving them first-hand accounts of the afterlife. Haunted by the sins of their past and with paranormal consequences dragging them down following their trespassing to the other side, this is a sci-fi film like none other. Ellen Page stars alongside Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton and Kiersey Clemons.
