The ex ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro praised his wife and fellow former 'Strictly' pro Janette Manrara for doing “an amazing job” putting their three-month-old infant to sleep, and admitted he can only do it if he can show off his moves.

The 33-year-old star said on ‘Lorraine’: “I have a bit of a hyper energy sometimes and I can’t seem to settle her at all. In the evenings, Janette does an amazing job of putting her to sleep and I can only do it if I dance with her.

“Just like me, she loves the Foxtrot ... she falls asleep every single time.”

On fatherhood, Aljaz added: “I love her, every single day more.”

Janette, 39, said Lyra’s birth was "magical", as she gushed about motherhood.

She said: “Everything went super perfect on the day, it was magical. The day couldn’t have gone better. We danced, we sang, it was a big celebration.”

Janette also revealed their little one has already made her mark on the legendary Elstree Studios, when Lyra visited her mum at work on the BBC Two companion show ‘Strictly: It Takes Two’, which Janette co-hosts with Fleur East, 35.

She said: “She’s had her first visit to Elstree. She’s come to 'It Takes Two' a couple of times. We also saw some of the dancing. It was very beautiful.

“I was in the hair and make-up room feeding her and I just thought, ‘How crazy the world and life is and I’m back here in this space 10 years later, with my daughter?’ It was quite surreal.”
