Maya, 26, and Peter, 40, were a huge hit with viewers on 'Crouchy's Year-Late Euros' show during the Euro 2020 championships and now TV bosses want the pair to host a new show for the World Cup in 2022.

A source told The Sun Online: "Peter and Maya did a great job and the show was really well received by viewers. It was particularly popular with younger viewers and bosses were delighted about that.

"There are already plans to bring the show back next year when England take part in the World Cup.

And the BBC are also looking at other projects Peter and Maya could be involved in because they have a great rapport.

"They are good mates off screen and that comes across on screen."

Each episode saw Peter, Maya and co-host Alex Horne, 42, present their unique take on the Euros action on the show, featuring match reviews, predictions, celebrity guests, and live music courtesy of house band Alex Horne and The Horne Section.

Peter said previously: "This tournament has been a long time coming but it’s finally here! Maya, Alex and myself can’t wait for the games to start and for the nation to go Euros crazy.

"We will be dissecting the highs and lows of the action, plus having a chat to loads of top guests. Whatever the outcome, we will be having a good laugh along the way with a surprise or two for sure! Honestly, I can’t wait."

Maya added: "I’m super excited to be a part of this show, I have always been a football fan so I am thrilled to be in amongst the action for the Euros this year.

"Expect lots of laughs, celebrity guests and of course the latest on the biggest games this summer!"
