The ITV presenters have sent their love to their colleague - who married Derek Draper in 2005 - as she continues to show "extraordinary strength" shortly after she shared how "new and devastating ways" are affecting her significant other.

Speaking on 'Good Morning Britain' on Friday (22.05.20), Lorraine said: "Our Kate was out there with her kids clapping our carers last night. It's remarkable. Her strength is extraordinary.

"Derek her husband is still in intensive care, but as Kate says he is still with her so there is still hope. All we can do is send our love and support. She's amazing."

The 'Good Morning Britain' co-host's significant other has been in hospital since the end of March after contracting the disease, but the TV presenter admitted she "couldn't be prouder" of how their children, Darcey, 14, and 10-year-old Billy, have coped over the last two months, and shared a clip of them in good spirits during last night's (21.05.20) Clap For Carers.

Her co-host Ben was happy to see her smiling in the clip as she battles through the terrifying circumstances.

After they aired the snippet from Kate's social media page, Ben said: "It is lovely to see that smile."

Dr. Hilary Jones also chipped in to spread some positivity on the situation, explaining how coronavirus patients do recover after spending a lot of time in hospital.

He added: "She has been very strong and not lost her thoughts for other people in this situation, which is remarkable in the circumstances.

"A lot of people spend a lot of time in hospital with COVID-19 and many of them do emerge recovered. Where there is life there is hope. "
