The TV presenter - who hits the milestone age on November 30 - was treated by the team at her ITV show 'Lorraine', who gave her the chance to learn from the best at NASA, and she even received some advice from British astronaut Tim Peake before the big day.

Reflecting on the moment she experienced zero gravity, she wrote for The Sun newspaper: "For the first couple of times I was like a hyperactive toddler, squealing and giggling and kicking my feet in the air.

"This made me flail around all over the place, like an out-of-control firework. Then I remembered all the advice to just float around and enjoy the strange feeling of zero gravity.

"We had some fun trying to pour a cup of tea, and trying to gulp down the floating droplets, as well as trying to eat sweeties bobbing around in the air."

The 59-year-old star was overjoyed to get to live out something she'd dreamed about since she was bought her first telescope by her father when she was just five years old.

And the "cherry atop the icing of a fabulous cake" came when she was spotted in her hotel wearing her NASA flight suit really looking the part.

Lorraine added: "When it was all over and I returned to the hotel - obviously still in my flight suit and cool aviator sunglasses - a lovely little old American lady was coming out of the lift and asked me if I was an astronaut.

"It was one of the best moments of my life and was the cherry atop the icing of a fabulous cake and an experience I will never forget.

"And I still want to be an astronaut when I grow up."
