BBUK

UPDATE 10:35am - Channel 5 have officially unveiled the news on their website, stating that the power theme will be initiated from launch night and will "dominate the house for the summer."

They also discuss the new look the house will have:

"Gone are the sumptuous furnishings and ornate decorations of the last Celebrity Big Brother House and in their place now feature stark open spaces and sleek, clean lines in a House that looks as though it has been transported from the future. Technology is at its heart."

Also revealed is the addition of Luisa Zissman - former Celebrity Big Brother housemate - as a regular panellist on Bit on the Side and Bit on the Psych, where she'll also act as "roving reporter".

It has been revealed that this year's civilian UK series of Big Brother will have a power theme.

Housemates will be able to control serious elements inside the house including who may be up for eviction, treats and punishments to ensure an unbalanced and dramatic few months of fun.

Gaining power will come at a price in the house, as those who make all the decisions will be booted from the top of the heirarchy as power shifts to another housemate.

A source said to the Daily Star: "The Hunger Games was about a TV show where young people fought to the death to be victors.

"While we don't want anyone to actually die, the housemates really will have to be on their toes to fight to stay in the game."

Big Brother returns this summer.
