Whilst you might be able to renew your vows further down the line - you only get one wedding day. You're sure to spend plenty of days meticulously planning every aspect, only to change your mind at a moment's notice. Don't worry, it happens to us all!

What would you change?

What would you change?

It doesn't make your day any less special, but it's worth having a moment of self-reflection before your big day. Does this event really embody you both as a couple? Are you really making the right choice on the finer details?

You wouldn't be the first person to make some last minute amendments, so take a look at the most common changes people would make if they could host their wedding day all over again.

Learn to dance:

Learning to dance isn't just an opportunity to show off your moves to family and friends! It's a wonderful bonding experience for you and your partner, helping you to both de-stress after months of planning your big day. Now we know you're not going to be able to host your own Strictly Come Dancing championship, but learning a few basic routines for your first dance will just about do it.

Order your wedding dress well in advance:

It's every Bride's worst nightmare - a dress that doesn't fit!

How do you avoid such horror? Make sure you order your dress well in advance (at least 6 months) and go for regular fittings before the main event. Many brides choose to go on a strict diet to lose weight before the wedding, which can actually be your downfall if you don't go for a dress fitting closer to the day.

Rachel Attwell, Managing Director at Luella's, said that before she became a boutique owner herself, she had no idea how long it took to get a dress ready:

"The majority of weddings take place in the spring or summer so the designers are busy trying to get all of the dresses ready at the same time. It's essentially a queuing system and even though you might order your dress in November, the designer might not be able to start working on it until February in order to have the dress ready for an early summer wedding."

Writing your vows:

It goes without saying that your wedding day is a personal moment between the two of you, so make sure your vows reflect that. They are the eternal promise you make to one another and it's a surprise that so many people overlook them. Try to avoid the cliché, traditional vows and customise them to your own relationship.

Keep your guests well fed:

Rightly or wrongly, quite a few guests consider the food to be one of the most important factors of deciding how a wedding went. If you leave your guests waiting around in between room on an empty stomach, your day might not be remembered so fondly. Keep the conversation flowing and the good times rolling with some much appreciated canapés.

Consider a videographer:

One of the most common gripes we heard was that photos just weren't enough to capture all of those candid moments. Choose carefully and you won't even notice that your videographer is there, seamlessly blending in as a guest and making sure the best bits of your wedding are immortalised for years to come.

Don't underestimate the significance of your wedding rings:

The rings are just as important as the dress and suit! You need to carefully choose your wedding rings as they the one aspect of your wedding day that will truly stay with you forever. It's easy to assume that this is an area that you can save money on, but you need to choose a timeless piece that will last in quality and transcend fashion styles.

Make the day about YOU:

Far too many weddings end in a game of trying to please all. Choosing a colour scheme that suits your bridesmaid's taste, a venue that distant relatives can get to, arranging a seating plan to appease family members; it all takes the fun out of your wedding day.

The key is to keep it exactly how you would both want it. Stop compromising to please other people and remember that the day is all about you as a couple.
