Train like a Tribute in the fitness class

Train like a Tribute in the fitness class

As we gear up for part two of The Hunger Games, which hits cinemas next month, we can now train like a tribute in the lead up to the launch.

The Fitness Playground are launching a series of Hunger Games inspired workouts that will prepare 'tributes' for The Fitness Playground Hunger Games event on November 9. With tickets to the World Premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire at stake, may the odds be ever in your favour.

The Sessions:

Taking the renowned existing FP workout style of creatively using the capital city as a background for a full body workout mixed with competitive spirit and, most importantly, fun, these bespoke sessions will incorporate themes inspired by the training characters Katniss, Peeta and the tributes are put through before thrust into “The Games”.  Everyone who participates in a session during this time will also be given the chance to be included in a one off final event with prizes to be won across the three weeks.

Train Like a Tribute Training Programme:

Train Like a Tribute is a Hunger Games inspired package delivered by Fitness Playground and lasting 5 weeks. Clients will attend 10 sessions involving functional ‘survival’ fitness, combat skills in boxfit sessions and an introduction to climbing. The package is geared towards developing a strong and functional body ahead of the Christmas binge.

The Event:

Nominated ‘tributes’ will get the chance to compete against other ‘districts’ in the very first ‘Fitness Playground Hunger Games’. ‘Tributes’ will be faced with physical, mental and creative challenges, and in order to ‘survive’, they must do what is necessary.

The ‘Games’ will take part in a central London location and will consist of 12 nominated ‘tributes’ and a guest of their choice. Each challenge will be assigned a points value with bonuses being available along the way. The winners will be identified based on a point accumulation system awarded throughout the final session.

Goodies bags will be given to all that participate, but only one winner will receive two tickets to the World Premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire which takes place in London on November 11, 2013.

Once the time is up all ‘tributes’ will be asked to report back to a central London location to socialise and to hear the results of the first ever London Hunger Games inspired event as well as revealing the victors of ‘The Games’ and winners of the World Premiere tickets.

How it works:

To become a ‘tribute’, you must first train like one. Fitness Playground will be launching a brand new training package at the end of October called ‘Train Like a Tribute’. In the lead up to The Fitness Playground Hunger Games event, Fitness Playground will be running some taster sessions.

To compete in The Fitness Playground Hunger Games event, hopeful tributes must first attend at least one of these sessions:

•         Wednesday 23rd October 2013 from 7pm-8pm near Waterloo

•         Wednesday 30th October 2013 from 7pm-8pm near Waterloo

•         Wednesday 6th November 2013 from 7pm-8pm near Waterloo

Whilst all ‘tributes’ must attend at least one of these three sessions, you can gain additional entries by visiting other Fitness Playground sessions which will each have a small Hunger Games twist. For example, if you attend a special Hunger Games training session on Wednesday 23rd October and then a regular session on Monday 28th October, your name will be entered into the ‘Fitness Playground Reaping’ twice! Double the odds!
